As a registry keeper, the U.S. Social Security Administration (SSA) publishes lists of the most popular baby names registered in the U.S. each year.

To be more exact, these lists are based on samples taken by the SSA from the full data, and give a statistically accurate depiction as to what names have been the most popular each year.

The SSA's list of popular baby names goes as deep as 1000 most popular registered names per year.
